PAMOJA Cleantech AB, established 2010, is a for-profit social enterprise from Sweden. Our mission is to operate and maintain decentralized renewable energy power units to foster local entrepreneurs in rural communities in Uganda.

PAMOJA Cleantech AB is a dynamic company with an international multi-disciplinary team with expertise in renewable energy engineering, sustainable development, land use, community empowerment and skills training. We are driven by an ambition to solve social and environmental problems with entrepreneurial means. We work with a multi-sectorial network of partners covering research, tech-transfer, business and finance. Together with these partners, we are implementing this ground-breaking demonstration project.
Our Team
Olof Hallström
Senior Project Manager
Olof holds a MSc. in Environmental Engineering with specialization in Renewable Energy Technologies from Lund University, Sweden. He has 10 years of experience developing solar thermal energy systems and thermally driven heat pump technologies, and designing and installing solar energy systems in emerging markets across the globe. He is a keen researcher, having participated in several EU funded FP7 programme projects and led research projects at Mälardalen University since 2011. Olof has been working with Pamoja since 2015 and is managing projects from fiancing to installation.
Peik Stenlund
Co-founder & Director
Peik is an international relations professional and a serial entrepreneur with a mind for social business and climate change mitigation. Formerly active in the Stockholm Association of International Affairs and as a youth delegate at the UN COP15 conference when initiatives were taken to form Pamoja Cleantech. At Pamoja he is coordinating operations and management.
Shashank Verma
Business Development
Shashank holds a B.Tech in Computer engineering from the National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra, India, and a MBA in Social Entrepreneurship from the University of Oxford. After 7 years working as a renewable energy consultant for in India, he co-founded the award winning social enterprise CleanStar Energy, which develops a new and inclusive business model for sustainable biofuels in India. At Pamoja, Shashank is managing the implementation of biomass supply chains and dedicated tree plantations in Uganda.
Diana Nsiima
Operations Manager
Diana holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Management. She has been working for PAMOJA from the very start. She is coordinating field activities and in charge of operations of the running power plants.
Felix Ertl
Co-Founder & Director
Felix is an advanced renewable energy engineer with special expertise in solar technology and bio-energy. Felix is a product developer holding own patents. He has worked for EON Climate & Renewables, Schaeffler Group and as a researcher for the leading institute for solar research in Germany: DLR – The German Aerospace Center. Felix has a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the Applied University Wuerzburg/ Schweinfurt, Germany and he is a graduate from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm with a MSc. in Sustainable Energy Engineering.
Nicolas Fouassier
CEO
Nicolas holds a MSc. in Energy and Environment engineering from the National Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA) in Lyon, France. He also holds a Master in Management of Sustainable Development and Climate Change from the Business School of Toulouse, France. At Pamoja, Nicolas is working as a technical manager on the design and implementation of the Green Plant, and coordinating student research activities in Uganda.
Sailous Mutebwa
Plant Operator
Sailous is an operator of the biomass gasification power plant in Muduuma District, Tiribogo Village. He has earlier experience as a mechanic. Sailous has successfully completed the Pamoja 2-month training program and is now capable of running a biomass gasification unit independently.

Dr. Thomas Buchholz
Biomass Supply Chain Advisor
Thomas is an internationally recognized analyst in bio-energy fuel supply logistics and business models. Thomas has worked on biomass gasification concepts for rural electrification purposes in East Africa since 2005. He is currently affiliated with the University of Vermont (US), and has authored a wide range of scientific and technical publications on the topic.
Maria Manjon Rodriguez
Legal Advisor
Maria is a corporate lawyer at Spanish Solar Energy firm Abengoa Solar. She brings extensive experience from the renewable energy industry and is passionate about guiding this social enterprise to sustainability.
